First, he says the leader should set his or her sights on the right target and the right vision. Second he says the leader has to treat the customers right, though deciding on the right target and vision also requires deciding what is best for the customer and then providing it. The last admonition for the leader to treat his or her subordinates right is also only an extension of service to the customer, for treating subordinates right is how to provide the best service to the customer.

Blanchard's book provides good advice and does so in a clear way. He also includes charts and tables to help the reader understand the material better, and in a way, he treats the reader as a customer and seeks to offer the best experience in reading this book. The main point in the book is simply to treat people with respect, meaning both employees and customers, and doing so offer the best chance of success without focusing only on performance and achievement.
Sometimes you get the best results when you focus more on the process than the goal.
