The objective I have in mind for “pepper” is to provide travel destination details to the customers who come to my travel agency for information. Instead of my personal input on clients who primarily only want information and don't necessarily want to make travel plans immediately, “pepper” can allow them to be well-informed of all our travel plans through an interactive and fun way. I can teach “pepper” to access our online database and memorise the details of all the travel plans we offer and the fact that he is connected to the internet can allow customers to view the ratings of travel destinations, hotels, packages etc. as well as see what our customers have commented on our services. This will allow me to focus all of my energy on customers who want to commit to a travel plan as opposed to just explore options.



b. Describe a USE-CASE with appropriate methods that aim to achieve at least one of your objectives.
Explain how this is achieved.



The tablet attached to “pepper” can be used as an appropriate method to exhibit majority information to the customers. The tablet can act as a visual display to the information that “pepper” is providing to the customers which means the customer will not have to look elsewhere for additional input and can interact with the robot to attain answers to all queries that they might have. This use-case will be an appropriate method to attain to primary objective of providing potential but non-committing customers with details of all our travel plans.



c. Specify one of the INTERACTION PATTERNS (shaped by one or more functions) to bring about your use case (or part thereof). Focus here on the modality of interaction (speech, gesture or otherwise), keeping in mind the strengths and weaknesses of your robot (refer to those).



The interaction pattern that can be used in support of the use-case above will primarily be speech. Since “pepper” can sense emotions and body language, it will adapt its speech to engage customers….....
