Introduction to Security Measures

The history of security is fairly lengthy. Security has always accompanied organized civilizations for nearly as long as they have been extant. This trend represents the democratization of security and its development as a means of securing ordinary citizens as opposed to those with political power.

Nonetheless, some fairly crucial developments in the history of security took place in England, beginning in the 13th century. Formal security measures such as creating and shutting village gates at dusk, as well as creating groups of private citizens to help police to pursue people were first utilized in England (Dyonder, 2009).
