Malpractice in Patient Care

Nurse A is assigned to Mr. Jones and is tasked with ensuring that the patient is protected at all times. The patient cannot do certain things that will assure him a protected and assured health process. The nurse provides every necessary help and support so that Mr. Jones can recover as expected. Presently, the nurse has been doing well on the shift. Additionally, the nurse should ensure that the patient has received equitable medical service. In the case presented, the nurse is doing well since he is at the touching distance between him and the patient. The nurse should offer an immediate observation on the health situation of the patient throughout the nursing process, which is throughout the night shift. The nurse has the duty to ascertain the feelings and changes within the patient to be accurate on what is happening and what is likely to happen in the course of the patient recovering or using the standard and provided medical attention (Young & Williams, 2011).

When the physician is away, the nurse offers immediate feedback regarding the patient's progress and other challenges that might have occurred in their absence. In the case presented, the nurse does well at first to call the doctor to report the immediate changes over the patient. Nonetheless, the nurse fails when he does not call the doctor for the second time. The nurse does not have to let anything come between him and the medical service offered to the patient. In any case, the nurse is responsible for anything that comes in the way of the patient with or without the absence of the medical doctor assigned to Mr. Jones. Overall, the nurse should give the patient a suitable environment guaranteeing recovery to optimal health standards. Even as the patient is being rushed to the medical bay for the second surgery, the nurse should be recording all the events including the drugs administered, their response, or any emergency procedures.
